Instructions for Entering Sick Time into the Peoplesoft System
To enter sick time you will use your UMS account which is different than campus E-mail or network accounts. If you are unsure if you have one or need to have one issued, please contact the helpdesk at X4029. You will need to use the Internet Explorer Launch for your web browser which you should be able to access from a desktop icon.
- Access the U Maine System's Web page at http://www.maine.edu and click on the link in the upper left corner called "Peoplesoft Access".
- Enter your Peoplesoft user name in the User ID field and your password in the password field (Peoplesoft is case sensitive) - this is the User ID and password that you obtained from the helpdesk if you did not already have one.
- Click sign in.
- This takes you to the Portal Menu. Click on Employee Self Service on the left side other screen.
- Click on report time.
- Click on elapsed time.
- Select the date on the calendar menu where you wish to enter time. Click search.
- Enter your time in hours for the date that you are reporting. A new line must be entered for each day you are entering time. I.E., If you are entering 3 days of sick time because you were out with the flu for example, you will enter the time on three different lines (you can add lines by clicking the icon on the bottom of the screen) -- use care with hours and decimal placement - a full day of sick time should be entered as 8.000 hours.
- Enter the time reporting code from the drop down list - sick time is disability time and annual leave is vacation time (vacation time does not apply to academic year faculty, only sick time is reported).
- Click SAVE at the bottom of the screen and then be sure to SIGN OUT of the system by clicking on the icon on the top of the page.
