Graduate Faculty Appointment Criteria

Academic Preparation

 

The candidate shall hold a doctorate or be master's prepared in an area that meets specific program needs.

 

Scholarship

The candidate has an established research/ scholarship program. The candidate has received regional and national recognition from scholars and professionals for research, publishing, and/or clinical expertise.

 

Professional Experience

 

The candidate has demonstrated expertise continued involvement in the respective profession.

 

Teaching Quality

 

The candidate shall show evidence of effective teaching and research advisement at the graduate level.

 

Diversity Among Faculty

 

The candidate adds to the diversity of graduate faculty in respect to professional experience, demographic characteristics, and the academic institutions at which they earned their degrees.

 

Curriculum Development, Evaluation and Instructional

Design

 

The candidate has demonstrated, through educational preparation or experience, the ability to strengthen faculty expertise or facilitate faculty development in curriculum and instruction design.

 

Community Service

 

The candidate has a record of University and community service consistent with the mission of the University and the goals of the graduate programs.
