Ergonomic Evaluation/Injury Management

The Office of Occupational Safety and Health will conduct workstation audits, particularly computer station specifications for height, angle, etc., for ergonomic correctness for all new employees, current employees when there has been a change in the office setup or location, and anytime there is a concern about repetitive motion or general discomfort. Contact the OSHA Office at 780-5406 to schedule an appointment with Al Kirk to perform the workplace evaluation as soon as possible.

Accommodating equipment purchases by the College and adjustments to the work area are based on the assessment report that results from this audit and must be in place. Al Kirk will provide the Dean's Office with recommendations about what changes should be made to the workstation. The faculty/staff member should work with Susan Taylor and Pam Hartford to assure that the recommended changes are made in a timely manner.

When injury occurs during work, an employee must complete an injury report as soon as possible after the event and report it to the Dean's Office. Please see Susan Taylor for the form or contact Injury Management at 780-5175. The Injury Management Coordinator will review the report and contact you regarding medical treatment as necessary and will work with the Office of Occupational Safety and Health and the College to put workstation accommodations in place to compensate for difficulties as appropriate. All potential situations that involve workmen's compensation must be reported and administered through the Office of Injury Management.
