USM Catering Menus and Food Service Policies

2012-2013 Catering Menus

University of Southern Maine Catering can provide food and beverage services to the USM campus and beyond.   While it is not required to use USM Catering on campus, we strongly encourage it.  USM Catering  has the home field advantage -- kitchens are close by and their knowledge of what works best in each building on campus is invaluable.  There is a $4 per person fee assessed if you opt for an outside caterer. 

The following menu guide offers our most popular items. We encourage you to contact your Department of Conferences’ meeting planner for any special arrangements or items you may not find in the guide. Your meeting planner can advise you on popular menus and good choices designed specifically for your event. It is our goal to exceed your expectations.  

Customizing is easy!

Special requests and diet restrictions are easily accommodated.  If you do not see what you are looking for in our menus, please let us know.  We can design a menu to suit your taste and your budget.

Ordering

To place an order contact your meeting planner at the Department of Conferences at 780-5960 or email conferences@usm.maine.edu While we make every effort to accommodate last minute orders, we cannot guarantee your fist choice selections can be fulfilled. We recommend when planning events for larger groups that you make your menu selections at least four (4) weeks in advance.

Minimums are clearly listed for all menu items throughout this guide. Please consult your event planner for information regarding charges for events not meeting these guidelines.

Events held on weekends need to meet a minium of $100 of food service.

Guarantees

Your final guest count and signed menu contract are needed three (3) business days prior to your event. Your final invoice will be based on your final guest count provided or the number of guests in attendance at he event whichever is greater.

We understand that last minute cancellations are unavoidable. We will work with you to minimize your charges. But you will be responsible for any costs that are incurred by the catering department up to the time of cancellation.

Gratuity

A 20% gratuity will be added to all food service.

All meals within this booklet are planned for a maximum of two hours. Additional costs incurred will be passed on to groups with extended service periods or scheduled programs.

Billing

Unless prior arrangements are made, direct billing for all food service events, excluding deposit, will be done by the Department of Conferences approximately two weeks after the event. All direct billing is inclusive and will itemize all charges incurred for the University of Southern Maine services, space, and equipment rental. Payment in full is due within thirty days of receipt of the invoice. All requests for alternative billing arrangements must be pre-approved by the Department of Conferences. All prices are subject to change, but at least thirty days notice will be provided.
