USM Owned Hardware and Operating System Minimum Requirements
Effective: July 1, 2007
In order for a university-owned computer to have reliable access to the USM network, it should meet the following minimum requirements.
Minimum Hardware Specifications

Virus Protection Software
User Services will administer and maintain all virus software installations and updates for USM-owned computers.

Computers and operating systems not meeting the above requirements are difficult or impossible to support. Best attempts to repair problems with older systems take time, may fail, but will cost departments $65 per hour for labor. Personally owned computers, software and PDA's are generally not supported.
