MAINE Commuter Connections is the new commuter services program
for the State of Maine. They provide services and information
for the commuting public on user-friendly, money-saving
transportation options statewide: carpools, vanpools, bus,
ferry, rail, bicycle, walking, Park and Ride lots, telecommuting,
and more. They also provide Maine employers with customized
transportation solutions for their business and their commuting
employees, and they are the statewide coordinator for
Commute Another Way Day in June of each year.
GO MAINE is administered by the Greater Portland
Council of Governments and sponsored by the Maine Department of
Transportation and the Maine Turnpike Authority.
- Area Attractions: Our three campus locations (in Portland, Gorham, and Lewiston-Auburn) provide easy access to all of the state's major attractions and the four seasons provide a changing landscape to experience an array of outdoor pursuits. In the winter, you can head to the nearby Sunday River Ski Resort, Sugarloaf, or a number of other downhill and cross country ski resorts. In the summer, you can take a sea kayak to explore one of the many islands of Casco Bay, or visit one of the many local beaches along the scenic coast. You can also explore the mountains with opportunities to hike, camp, whitewater raft, and mountain bike.
