Community Partners and Faculty Come Together in Service Learning Sympoium
Forty USM Faculty and Community Partners gathered on Friday, January 27th to discuss what service learning means to their respective areas of work and how to enhance collaboration. With support from facilitator Maryli Tiemann, participants explored civic engagement partnerships theoretically and concretely, as community partners proposed projects and faculty requested learning opportunities for their students. Service Learning Coordinator Alicia Ines Sampson was the event organizer.
Help us plan USM Day of Service!
We are gearing up for the planning of the 2013 USM Day of Service, which will take place on Friday, April 19th from 10am-4pm. All students are welcome to join the planning committee and offer insight on how we might give back to the community on this special day. Please accompany us in this process! Contact Julia Pond at jpond@usm.maine.edu if you are interested.
