AmeriCorps Alum Maxwell Chikuta is United Way Loan Exec
Posted October 6, 2011
In 2003, Maxwell Chikuta (pictured, bottom center, at our 2009 MLK Day of Service) came to the US with little or no formal education. In 2008-09, he was a member of our AmeriCorps Service Leaders Program. Now, he's a graduate of the Muskie School of Public Service and a Loaned Executive in this year's United Way Campaign. See and hear him tell his story here!
Help us plan USM Day of Service!
We are gearing up for the planning of the 2013 USM Day of Service, which will take place on Friday, April 19th from 10am-4pm. All students are welcome to join the planning committee and offer insight on how we might give back to the community on this special day. Please accompany us in this process! Contact Julia Pond at jpond@usm.maine.edu if you are interested.
