Fall 2012 Update

 The Department of Communication and Media Studies has moved to our new home at 126 Bedford Street, (formerly the Political Science House).  We expect that our new location will be more convenient for students, faculty, and staff on the Portland Campus. 

 We welcome Dr. Ariel Rogers, Assistant Professor of Communication and Media Studies, who joins our faculty in Fall 2012.  Dr. Rogers received her Ph.D. in Cinema and Media Studies from the University of Chicago and her B.A. in Film Studies and Philosophy from Columbia University. She teaches in the areas of film and media studies, including film and media theory, international film history, spectatorship, new media, American cinema, melodrama, and women in film.
