HOMEWORK #3: SEARCH ENGINES

Search engines are going to be important to us in this course. We will need to
get handy with finding information in the vast world of the Internet. For this homework
please begin to use more than one search engine to find a specific body of information of your
choice--an early stab at a communication topic. Keep track of how well the various search engines
perform for you, in terms of ease of use and productivity of findings. Write up a summary of your
experience and post it to our DISCUSSION GROUP.

Explore search engines by looking for research on a topic that you may use for your final project in this course. If you are not yet certain about the topic, choose a possible topic and work with it. Offer a summary statement, reviewing the research you found. Speak to classmates in your summary, point out what the research was about, how they did the research, the key findings, what you learned from doing this and your recommendations to others.
