Just who and what is smudge studio, you ask? smudge is a Brooklyn-based collaboration between artist, designer and independent scholar Jamie Kruse and New School Professor of Media Studies Elizabeth Ellsworth. Their work "meets sites and moments where the geologic and the human converge." They will conduct a workshop on a Casco Bay Lines mail boat tour with USM art students where they will create material for the exhibit.

At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
