Minor in Chemistry

To graduate as a chemistry major or minor in any of the programs, a student must earn a grade of C or better in all chemistry courses and a minimum grade point average of 2.0 in all other courses required for the major.
The minimum number of credits (exclusive of the Core curriculum) required for the minor: 17. At least 6 credit hours beyond the 100-level must be taken within the Chemistry Department at USM.
The minor consists of CHY 113 and 114, 115 and 116 and either of the following two groups of courses: 231 and 232, 251 and 252, or 371; 373 and 374; 421.

USM Chemistry Club
The USM Chemistry Club is an ACS Student Chapter that works to educate and entertain students in K-12 about the principles of chemistry through engaging demonstrations.
In addition to performing demonstrations, the USM Chemistry Club presents chemistry research from a variety of fields at the annual national ACS conference.
