Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis (CABA) Program Summary
Program Requirements
The Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis (CABA) is a six course, eighteen credit hour program. The completion of the CABA constitutes partial fulfillment of the requirements to obtain the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential. The BCBA is a national certification administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The USM CABA program is accredited by the BACB to provide the necessary coursework in preparation for the BCBA. After completion of the CABA program, those who wish to obtain national certification must also complete an internship under the supervision of an experienced BCBA as well as take and pass the national BCBA exam. Only two (2) CABA courses (up to six credits) may be taken prior to application. Those prospective applicants who wish to take a course prior to applying or being admitted to the program may want to start by taking SPY 676.

Admission Requirements
Admission to the CABA program is open to anyone with an earned prior master’s or doctorate in psychology or a related field. Applications for admission are considered twice a year and the CABA admission deadlines are December 15th and March 21. Late applications are not accepted. Applicants must submit the following materials.
- Completed application form
- $15.00 application fee
- Copies of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts
