Professor F. Charles “Bud” Mace was recently elected President and Chair of the Board of Directors for the Society for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior. Dr. Mace is among the top ten international researchers most–cited in behavioral psychology. His research interests include behavioral momentum, the matching law, and motivating operations. Before coming to USM, Dr. Mace taught at Lehigh University, University of Pennsylvania, and Rutgers and spent several years at the University of Wales in Bangor (UK), where he still serves in a consulting capacity.
Don Bouchard, CEHD’s ESL Program Coordinator, will serve as a Distinguished Educator in ESL/Bilingual Program for the State of Maine. The Maine Department of Education’s ESL/Bilingual Program Distinguished Educator is a professional who has been successful in enabling English Language Learners to make outstanding progress toward meeting English language proficiency and educational standards.
Associate Professor Diane Wood publishes an article called, “ Professional Learning Communities: Teachers, Knowledge, and Knowing” in the latest issue of Research in the Service of Practice
Assistant Professor Rob Whitman contributes a chapter called, “Civic Education in Two Worlds: Contestation and Conflict over the Civic in School and Community on the Spokane Indian Reservation” to a volume Reimagining Civic Education edited by E. Doyle Stevick and Bradley A. U. Levinson.
