Directions to the Abromson Center

From North of Gardiner in Maine: I-95 South to I-295 South via exit 103, then directions via I-295 below.
From North of Portland, South of Gardiner, I-95 South to I-295 South via exit 52.
From South of Portland, I-95 North to I-295 North via exit 44.
From I-295, take exit 6B ( Forest Avenue North) in Portland. Off the exit, immediately move to the far left lane on Forest Avenue to prepare for a left turn at the first stoplight (intersection of Forest Avenue and Bedford Street). Turn left onto Bedford Street at the stoplight and continue underneath the USM Alumni Skywalk. Immediately after the Skywalk, turn left onto Surrenden Street and continue into the USM Parking Garage.
If approaching the campus from Brighton Avenue, follow Brighton Avenue towards downtown until it turns into Bedford Street. Turn right onto Surrenden Street immediately before the USM Alumni Skywalk, and continue into the USM Parking Garage.
Directions to Luther Bonney & Payson Smith on the USM Portland Campus
If your class is in Luther Bonney, follow directions to the Abromson Center. Take the glass walkway on the second level which connects Abromson to the main campus. Luther Bonney is the building immediately to your left.

If your class is in Payson Smith, follow directions to the Abromson Center. Take the glass walkway on the second level which connects Abromson to the main campus. Straight ahead is the Science Building. Payson Smith is to the left of the Science Building.

Parking on the USM Campus

It’s easy and it's free! Take a parking ticket when you enter the garage and have it stamped by Continuing Education staff. When you leave, present it for validation at the parking office on the lower level of the garage.

Please Note: on Saturdays, entrance and exit gates remain open for free parking and no tickets will be dispensed.

METRO Bus

METRO bus stops are within very close walking distance of the Abromson Center. Bus 4 or 4X from downtown Portland turns from Forest Avenue onto Bedford Street. There is a bus stop by the USM Woobury Campus Center diagonally across from the new Abromson Center. Other buses coming out Forest Avenue stop at Bedford Street in front of the Portland Housing Authority. Incoming buses stop in front of Pier One at the corner of Forest Avenue and Bedford Street.
