Certificate Program in Advanced Supervision

This program is for seasoned supervisors and those who have completed the Certificate in Supervision. It provides the next level of practical, no-nonsense tools for developing their leadership skills and im-proving their ability to bring out the best performance in others. It will be highly interactive, dynamic and will incorporate assessments, questionnaires, group discussion and role play to enhance skill devel-opment. Topics to be covered will include communication techniques for challenging and difficult per-sonalities, influencing and crafting collaborative solutions, assessing leadership style and flexing that style to match the employee needs, as well as, assessing work styles and understanding underlying val-ues and beliefs that drive motivation.

During the course of this advanced- level program participants will:

  • assess their work style and develop an awareness of the motivating values that drive their be-havior and the behavior of others
  • expand their capacity to engage in difficult conversations and improve their effectiveness in working with challenging situations and personalities.
  • learn a six-step process to influence others for mutual gain.
  • develop their collaborative skills to engage others in goal achievement.
  • determine their preferred leadership style through assessment and understand why and how to modify their style to meet the needs of each employee.
  • increase their confidence, assertiveness and effectiveness as an emerging leader.
