Certificate Program in Training and Development

This program provides a comprehensive introduction to the role of the trainer and the opportunity to learn and practice the fundamental skills and processes involved. It provides a solid foundation for:

  • new trainers
  • current trainers who want to supplement their on-the-job training
  • professionals seeking to transition into the field of training
  • consultants who want to add training to their set of skills

The program consists of six core courses and six hours of electives that allow participants to customize the curriculum to meet their career and organizational needs.

Required Courses (67 hours):

  • Introduction to Training (3 hours) This course should be taken first; it will be offered twice a year.
  • Conducting Reliable Needs Assessments (12 hours)
  • Performance Consulting (12 hours)
  • Designing for Effective Learning (12 hours)
  • Training Facilitation (16 hours)
  • Evaluation of Training (12 hours)

Elective course (minimum of 6 hours): choose any course from the Business and Management offerings.
