Other USM fees

Application:   A $40.00 fee is required when a student applies for admission into an undergraduate degree program.  A $50.00 fee is required when a student applies for admission into a graduate or law degree program.

Distance Learning Course Support:  Students registering for ITV and videoconferencing courses are assessed a $7.00 per credit fee to defray mailing costs.

Distance Learning Technology:  Students registering for classes offered at USM's off-campus centers or sites are assessed a $6.00 per credit fee, to support the cost of the technology at the off-campus centers and sites.

Online Course Enrollment:  Students registering for classes offered via the World Wide Web are assessed a $25.00 per credit hour fee.

Enrollment:  A one-time $150.00 fee is assessed to all newly admitted undergraduate degree students.

Graduate Student Enrollment:  This fee is assessed one-time, to cover service costs (advising, orientation, etc.), for newly matriculated Graduate students.

Graduate non-matric Student:  This fee is a $20.00 per semester charged to non-matriculated Graduate students, covering services needed to qualify and register these students.

Insufficient Funds:  A $25.00 fee is assessed when a check is returned due to insufficient funds or when a credit card payment is declined.

Late Payment:  A $50.00 fee is assessed to student accounts not paid when bill is due, maximum of $200.00 per semester.  This includes late payment plan bills as well.

Payment plan:  A non-refundable $30.00 fee is assessed to students enrolling in one of USM's three installment plans.  This fee covers mailing and administrative costs.  This fee is assessed each semester a student enrolls in an installment plan.  To see payment plan due dates, click here.

Reactivation:  A  $20.00 fee is required when a student previously accepted to a degree program and returns after an extended leave.

Testing and Assessment:  Non-matriculated students taking English and/or Math placement exams are charged $15.00 per exam.  For more information on other Testing and Assessment fees, see Testing and Assessment.

Long Distance Phone Charges:  Long distant phone call charges go directly to your student account. These charges are due within 10 days.

Health Service Fees:  USM's Health Centers will allow a student to add fees for services rendered to their student bill.  These charges are due within 10 days.

Portland Hall Parking:  A student who is elected to have a parking space at Portland Hall, are assessed a $125.00 fee for the space.  This fee is due within 10 days.
