Peggy Liberman Osher In addition to serving on USM's Board of Visitors, Peggy Liberman Osher serves as a trustee for the Portland Museum of Art. In addition, she chairs the museum's education and collection committees, as well as its Friends of the Collection. She and her husband, Dr. Harold Osher, have long supported the arts. They donated the Winslow Homer Graphics Collection, the Bernard A. Osher Lectureship Fund, and the Osher Acquisitions Fund to the PMA. The couple founded USM's Osher Map Library, and together they have curated five major map exhibitions at the PMA and the Osher Map Library. Peggy Osher also serves as a member of the Osher Library Associates Board of Directors. Osher has worked as a wardrobe consultant to individuals and businesses. She was a former director at Canal/Depositors/Key Bank, and director at Atlantic Bank. She has a B.A. from Wellesley College. She is a Reach for Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and serves on the Maine Arts Commission's grants committee. She serves on the USM Foundation Board of Directors and is the chair of the Temple Beth El Art Show. She previously served on the boards for Temple Beth El Sisterhood, National Council of Jewish Women, and the Western Maine Wellesley Club. She received the Outstanding Woman in Philanthropy honor from the YWCA in 1986 and the National Philanthropy Day Award from the National Society of Fundraising Executives in 1997. She received a Doctor of Humane Letters from USM in 1994, and the Deborah Morton Award from Westbrook College, also in 1994.
