Ann H.
Mohnkern '79L Ann H. Mohnkern is a retired vice president and assistant general counsel of Unum Corporation. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Maine School of Law and Smith College. Prior to joining what was then UnionMutual in 1984, Ann clerked for Justices Charles A. Pomeroy and Edward S. Godfrey of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, and spent several years as a litigator with the Portland law firm of Richardson, Tyler and Troubh. Since retirement from the practice of law, Ann has focused on building a second career as a landscape artist. Other community activities have included membership on the USM Board of Visitors, the Board of Directors of the University of Maine Law Alumni Association, and on the Boards of Directors of the Maine Audubon Society and the Merrill Memorial Library. Ann grew up in southern Massachusetts, and has lived and worked in Maine since 1971. She and her husband Kent live in Yarmouth.
