Posted July 29, 2011

USM's Lewiston-Auburn College recently announced that Kelsey Giroux is this year's recipient of the President's Lewiston-Auburn College Scholarship. This $5000 scholarship is awarded to one incoming full-time freshmen or transfer student who is pursuing their first baccalaureate degree at USM LAC. The scholarship may be renewable for up to three years and is funded with contributions from members of USM's Lewiston-Auburn College Advisory Board. Giroux is graduating from Leavitt Area High School in Turner and will start at USM LAC this fall in the Social and Behavioral Science program, with a track to pursue Occupational Therapy. She was recently recognized along with other scholarship recipients at a recent reception at USM's Lewiston-Auburn College. USM has been focused on raising scholarship dollars to help more Maine students afford a high-quality, public university education. More than $900,000 has been raised to date for range of new USM scholarships.
