Baker, Newman, & Noyes Eleanor M. Baker is the firm's managing principal. She specializes in helping high income and high wealth families with financial decisions. Her expertise also includes not-for-profit and health care industries, closely held businesses and planning for international transfers. Eleanor M. Baker began her career at KPMG Peat Mardick in 1977. With the founding of Baker Newman & Noyes in 1995, Ms. Baker became vice chairman and director of tax. Ms. Baker received a B.A. from the University of Maine. She earned a J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. Ms. Baker also holds the national designation of Personal Financial Specialist. Her Civic Awards Include: Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants - Public Service Award; University of Maine School of Law Alumni Association - Distinguished Service Award; Kennebec Council of Girl Scouts - Women of Distinction - Honoree; Junior Achievement Maine Business - Hall of Fame; and the YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry Honoree. Her Activities Include: Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants - Member; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants - Member; Gulf of Maine Development Corporation - Past Chairman; Gulf of Maine Aquarium - Past Chairman; Maine Medical Center - Trustee, Member of Executive Committee; MaineHealth Investment Committee; United Way of Greater Portland - 1997 Campaign Co-Chair; University of Southern Maine - Board of Visitors; University of Maine School of Law - Board of Visitors; and the Preble Street Resource Center Capital Campaign. She is also a trustee of Maine Employers Mutual Insurance Company.
