Textbook Return Policy

The textbook return policy changes depending on which semester you are purchasing books for.

Spring 2012 books are no longer returnable.

Summer 2012 Policy:
-If a course is held for less than 30 days, refunds will be made for a period of two business days from and including the first day of class.

-If a course is held for more than 30 days, refunds will be made for a period of three business days from and including the first day of class.

Fall 2012 Policy:
-Through Sept. 10th, 2012
USM Bookstore original receipt is required.

-Through Sept. 17th, 2012
Only books for dropped classes may be returned.  Receipt and proof of course drop is required.

-After Sept. 17th, 2012
No returns.

Refunds can be obtained at any of our three locations, as long as the books were purchased from the USM Bookstores. Refunds are given for the current semester only, within the stated times for the term.
Returns must be accompanied by a valid cash register receipt. It is the student's responsibility to keep their receipts. New textbooks may be returned for a refund only if they are in new condition. Do not write in any new textbook or open shrink-wrapped packages before attending your first class! If you drop a class or otherwise decide you don't wish to keep a book, we will be unable to refund your money for a new text that has been marked or damaged, or a package which has been opened. Used books must be in the same condition as when purchased.
