February '99
Issue #7

Hello. I hope everyone had a pleasant holiday and New Year's. We are slowly starting to get back into things. We held our first practice of the semester on February 1st. Some of the players are a bit rusty, but that will change. There are also a few new faces joining us. Recruiting is going well and I anticipate a very competitive preseason come August.

SPRING TOURNAMENTS: Our first tournament will be indoors at Franklin Pierce College at the end of the month. After that, we will be hosting an outdoor tournament April 18th. So far we have six colleges committed to play. The last tournament we will be involved with will be at Wheaton College sometime in late April. Hope some of you can come watch us play.

ALUMNI: I am looking to put an alumni team in our April 18th tournament. Those of you that want to play, please call me. If you know of any alumni that have not been getting the newsletter, let me know so I can add them to the list. Also, on our website is the women's soccer record book. It now includes an "Honor Roll," all the players that have received post-season honors. Please take a moment to look at it and let me know if I missed you or anyone you know of. I would also like to put together an "Alumni Directory". On the back of the newsletter you will find the information I am looking for. After I have received your info back, I will put it together and send it out to you. That way, all the alumni will have a reference when they would like to get in touch with someone. Only include the information you what printed and sent to the other alumni.

FUNDRAISING: In April, the Athletic Department and women's soccer are going to be doing a big fundraising push. The money raised will go towards completion of the soccer field. The things that need to be done are: pressbox/storage shed, proper seating for fans, concession stand, and lights. I am letting everyone know now so that when we knock on your door in April, you won't be surprised. It would be nice to have alumni involvement. If the alumni want, we can pool all the money from alumni into one big donation and offer it as a gift to the Athletic Department.

1999 SCHEDULE: September 4 & 5 we are going to a tournament in Oneonta, NY. I have reserved a number of hotel rooms at a very nice rate for parents, friends, or alumni if they plan on going. If you want one of those rooms, please call me as soon as possible. I only have a limited number.

Please call if you have any questions.
