Beginning her 15th season in 2010 as the head softball coach at the University of Southern Maine Coach Brown-Denico took control of the team in 1996, becoming the seventh head coach in the 31-year history of the program.
Reversing the fortunes of the USM softball program, Brown-Denico became the winningest coach in the history of the program during the 2001 season. She has been named Little East Conference Coach of the Year
three times, most recently in 2007, and consecutively in 1997 and 1998.
Brown-Denico was a standout player for USM and was
a four-time regional All-American in softball. She
is among the top record holders in various offensive
categories and finished with a career batting
average of .398.
Brown-Denico holds an undergraduate degree in
English and a masters degree in Adult Education from USM.
She is also the coach of the university's field
hockey program.
