Bajic Named Little East Conference Rookie of the Year
Bial, Bajic Earn Sport on the All-Conference Second Team

GORHAM, Maine -- University of Southern Maine freshman forward Sinisa
Bajic (Portland, Maine) has been named the 2005 Little East Conference Men's
Soccer Rookie of the Year following voting by the conference's head coaches.
The announcement of the all-conference teams and individual awards was made
Tuesday afternoon.
In addition to being named the conference's top rookie, Bajic earned a spot
on the all-conference second team along with junior forward Adam Bial (Wenham,
Mass./Hamilton-Wenham HS).
Bajic is the third USM player to be named Rookie of the Year, joining Mike
Fish (1991) and Rob Cianfrini (1992) as recipients of the honor. The Huskies'
leading scorer this season, the 6-foot-3 forward tallied 12 goals and was
credited three assists for 27 points in 16 matches. His dozen goals tied him
for ninth place on the single-season list for most goals scored. Bajic had two
game-winning goals during the campaign, and had a three-goal match against
Thomas College.
"Sinisa is an incredible talent who's still learning and adjusting to the
college game," said head coach Mike Keller. "He can finish. He gave us some
big goals when we needed them. At times he played more like an upper classman
than a freshman. He has a tremendous amount of potential."
One of only two starters returning from the 2004 squad, Bial earned his
first all-conference citation after scoring five goals, including two game-
winning markers, and passing out four assists for 14 points in 18 matches.
"Adam is the hardest working player on the field for us. Early in the
season, his leadership (by example) kept a young team (nine first-year starters,
often including six freshman) from falling apart. His heart and desire got him
to where he is today," added Keller.
Southern Maine, with only two seniors on the roster, finished the 2005
season 5-10-3 overall and 1-4-2 in the conference (sixth place).

awarded a direct kick from 25 yards out. Junior forward Kellen Brown (Berwick,

following goals by senior forward Adam Bial (Wenham, Mass./Hamilton-Wenham) and

GORHAM, Maine -- Two members of the University of Southern Maine Huskies
men's soccer team have been recognized by the Little East Conference for their
outstanding play during the week of October 10-16.
Junior goalkeeper Chris Willard (Hampton, Conn./Parish Hill) was selected
as the Defensive Player of the Week, and freshman midfielder Greg Cox
(Brookline, Mass.) was chosen as the Rookie of the Week. The awards were

goal, and an assist in the win over UNE, then came back on Saturday to assist on
the game-winning goal and score an insurance goal against UMD.

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The Bowdoin College Polar Bears men's soccer team got
goals from three different players, and cruised to a 3-0 blanking of the
