Girls Swish Summer Shoot-Out will be divided into three divisions to accommodate schools of different sizes and levels of play. The format for the weekend will be 3 divisions of 12 teams per division, with 2 pools of 6 teams within each division. Teams will play a round robin schedule within their pool on Friday evening and Saturday and Sunday morning. On Sunday afternoon the two top teams from each pool will advance to a single elimination tournament for each division.

We are trying to provide you and your team the opportunity to face competition that you would not ordinarily play during the year, as well as provide a competitive fun-filled way to conclude summer league play. USM will provide a minimum of five refereed games, Shoot-out jersey for each player up to 10 players, lecture for the players, coaches' chalk talk and several other competitions and awards for the champions. The registration fee for the weekend is $385 per team.

Housing and meals in the University residence halls and dining room can be provided for you and your team at a cost of $81 per person. We have had to increase the cost for meals and housing since the state has chosen to charge room and meals tax on our camps. A coach must stay with the team and one coach per team will be provided housing and meals free of charge. The meal plan will include breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.

If you are interested in entering your team, please complete and return the enclosed registration form along with a $100 deposit to the Dept. of Athletics, 37 College Ave., Gorham, ME 04038.

We are looking forward to a great Girls Swish Summer Shoot-Out. Don't be left out! Register now-- the Shoot-Out is limited to the first 36 teams to register and for the last 10 years we had a waiting list. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (207) 780-5475.

Sincerely,

Gary B. Fifield
