Ed Flaherty
Ed Flaherty has been head coach of the USM Baseball program since 1986 and has established the Huskies program as one of the nation's finest with 16 post-season appearances.
USM Baseball has won two National Championships under Coach Flaherty, the most recent in 1997. Many of USM's baseball alumni have gone on to play professionally. Heading into the 2008 season, he has compiled a career record of 653-287-3 (.694 W-L pct.)
Coach Flaherty has received many coaching honors and has an outstanding and well-earned reputation for his proven teaching abilities and for his discipline and work ethic. His instructional baseball camps are among the highest regarded in New England.
Coach Flaherty earned an undergraduate education degree with majors in history and math from the University of Maine. He holds a masters in administration from Southern Maine.
Coach Flaherty was inducted into the University of Maine Sports Hall of Fame in 1992, the State of Maine Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993, and the NABC Hall of Fame in 2005.
