Pride and Tradition
USM enjoys a rich athletic tradition that has brought honor and
distinction to the University, the communities we serve and the entire
state of Maine. USM's Baseball Teams won two national
championships in the 1990s; their first, in 1991, was the first
college or university team in state history to win a national title in
any sport!
The Huskies have won state, conference and regional championships and
have successfully competed in numerous national championship
competitions.
The USM athletic program is considered to be one of the finest in the
Northeast and has earned the recognition and respect from other
athletic programs, from the media and from the public.
Outstanding teams and coaches help build and maintain the Husky
tradition and the success of our programs has helped us recruit
student-athletes who help our teams and programs compete at the
highest level.
