FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: Terrific WSW 12-18 bullt to an insane 25+, forcing the
premature end of the 2003 Wellahan Trophy after multiple capsizes/swampings.
8 course 5's were run in Vanguard Collegiate 420's. One protest, resulting in
a DSQ for vilotion of rule 10. Very close racing, great reaching action, lots
of fun. Thanks to Sail Maine'sm Chris Robinson for providing free coffe, hot
chocolate, and bagels. Thanks to Bates students for assisitng in the hosting
of this event. Congrats to Boston University, now a 2-time winner of the
Wellahan.

REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: 7 races were completed in a shifty 5-15 knot wind from
the south/sw with beautiful sunshine and temps in the mid 50s. Courses were
modified windward leeward and all races were sailed in Tech
Dinghies. One protest resulted in a DSQ.

REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Windy (15-20 S-SE), with building wind (18-30 SE-E) and approaching rain squalls.
As I write we are seeing 35 kts. 3 Races sailed, combined divisions/no rotation
before calling the event due to bad weather/borderline conditions.
Bates awarded BKD for a blown vang shackle, other than that no boat breakdowns but
plenty of capsizes. MMA called to drop event and let us know on Friday, Dartmouth
was a no show

REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
It was a beatiful fall day on Taylor Pond with temperatures in the low 80s
and water temperatures in the 70s, how could anyone complain. The lake
was flat water with breeze starting at about 6 knots and becoming more
variable as the day went on. All races were course 5 and each division got in
6 races. No protests filed, but several kinetic warnings were issued.
All teams had a great time, and they thank the Bates Alumni office for the
BBQ. The Bowdoin team ended up finishing in first.
