Rousseau Wins Maine Intercollegiate Golf Championship

	PORTLAND, Maine  --  Freshman Jason Rousseau (Gorham, Maine/Gorham HS) of 
the University of Southern Maine Huskies golf team shot a one-over-par 73 Friday 
to win the individual title at the Maine Intercollegiate Golf Championship 
played at the Riverside Golf Course.
	Husson College captured the team title with a combined score of 313 to 
beat the University of Maine Farmington by five strokes.  Southern Maine 
finished seventh among the 14 teams competing with a combined score of 339.
	Other USM players included sophomore Bill Slaiding (Seekonk, Mass./St. 
Raphael) who shot 87, sophomore Chris Junkins (Bangor, Maine/Bangor HS) who 
fired an 88, junior Kevin Beauregard (Woonsocket, R.I./Mt. St. Charles) who came 
in with a 91 and sophomore Mark Royer (Lowell, Maine/Fryeburg Academy) who 
carded a 92.
	The Huskies return to action Sunday (September 26) when they play in the 
Sid Farr Invitational hosted by Thomas College.

Maine-Farmington, Poulin Roll to Bowdoin Invitational Title
USM's Rousseau Seventh In First Collegiate Event

	BRUNSWICK, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington's Tim Poulin 
carded a two-day total of 157 to take medalist honors and helping the Beavers 
cruise to the team victory at the Bowdoin Invitational Golf Tournament at the 
par-72 Brunswick Golf Club on Monday afternoon. UMF finished with a team score 
of 641 - 29 strokes ahead of second place Husson College.
	Helping Maine-Farmington to the team victory was Adam Casey (3rd, 160), 
Brent Barker (T-5th, 162) and Sam Marzanell (T-5th, 162).
	Pacing Southern Maine to a solid fifth place team finish was freshman 
Jason Rousseau (Gorham, Maine/Gorham HS), who finished seventh after shooting 
rounds of 82 and 81 for a 163 total.  He was followed by newcomers Mark Royer 
(Lowell, Maine/Fryeburg Academy) and Bill Slaiding (Seekonk, Mass./Saint Raphael 
Academy) with two-round totals of 170 and 180, respectively.
	"The competition was extremely talented," said Bowdoin Head Coach and 
Tournament Director Terry Meagher. "With four players in the top five finishers, 
UMF put together an outstanding performance."
