Goodall Finishes Back in the Pack at ECAC Golf Championship

	GORHAM, Maine  --  Sophomore Ben Goodall (Richmond, Maine) of the University of 
Southern Maine carded rounds of 86 and 84 to finish back in the pack at the 38th Annual ECAC 
Men's Golf Championship played at the Penn National Golf Club in Mont Alto, Penn.
	Goodall's two-day total of 170 put him a four-way tie for 93rd place.  The event was won by 
Bill Link of the College of the Holy Cross with a brilliant three-under-par 141.  The team title was 
captured by Skidmore College with a score of 607.
	Goodall qualified for the championship by firing a 77 at the ECAC's Northern New England 
Qualifier played October 2 at the White Mountain Country Club in Ashland, N.H.
	The Huskies' top player this fall, Goodall finished the fall season with an 82.0 stroke average. 
He also had the team's best round carding a 73 at the USM Invitational on October 5.

Goodall Qualifies for ECAC Championship

	GORHAM, Maine  --  Sophomore Ben Goodall (Richmond, Maine) of the University of 
Southern Maine GOLF team has qualified as an individual competitor for the 38th Annual Eastern 
College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Golf Championship to be held October 12-13 at Penn National 
Resort in Fayetteville, Penn.
	The Huskies' number one player this fall, Goodall qualified for the championship by shooting 
a season low 77 at the ECAC's Northern New England Qualifier played ar the par 71 White 
Mountain Country Club in Ashland, N.H.  He finished in a tie for sixth place overall, three shots 
behind winner Pat Dunn of Boston College, who defeated Scott Pare of the University of 
Massachusetts Lowell in a playoff.
	Southern Maine placed ninth among the 12 teams competing.  The top three teams and top 
four individuals (plus ties) advance to the championship.  Other players for USM included senior 
Eric Fowle (Bangor, Maine) who carded a 90, junior John Downs (Brunswick, Maine) who shot a 91, 
sophomore Jed Williamson (Farmingdale, Maine/Hall-Dale HS) who had a 92 and freshman Josh 
Weed (Deer Isle, Maine/Deer Isle-Stonington HS) had a 99.
	Teams to qualify for the championship were Boston College, the University of Massachusetts 
Lowell and Bentley College.  Other individuals to qualify along with Goodall included Steve Harmon 
of the University of Vermont who tied Goodall for sixth place, Brent Kiley of Saint Anselm College, 
Spike Berthiaume of Saint Anselm and Dan Dorsey of Vermont.
