Torch Club invites ASET faculty
to present at its 78th annual meeting:
On May 2, 2007, John Wise, Director of the
Maine Center for Toxicology and Environmental Health
presented a lecture, Nanotechnology: The
Next Industrial Revolution for the Torch Club of Western
Maine, established in 1929. Torch Clubs operate in 70
locations in the United States and Canada, each drawing its
membership from the local professional community. TORCH is
an international association of local clubs in which
respected persons practicing recognized professions enjoy
the cultural interchange of knowledge. Dr. Wise, a Portland
native, was chosen for this presentation because of his
groundbreaking work in nanotechnology as it relates to
health in human and animal health. This is one of the many
examples of ASET faculty working with the community.
