During his residency, JamesWalsh, Visiting-Artist-in-Residence, 2003, created a multi-media artwork for the Southworth Planetarium, Portland Campus. Using sound, a star projector, slides, and video, When Cave Men Painted explores the ways we use reason and imagination to impose order on nature, transforming stars into constellations, animals into images of animals, and individuals into an organized society.
