| Late Winter, 2007, this book pulls out from a box. The life size cedar waxwings are colored pencil on pergamenta tethered by linen to each other and to carved branches (Lin Lisberger). Here the birds lift up about 8 feet from the box. |
Rebecca Goodale creates unique and limited edition books, many with sculptural components. She was a printmaking major at the Portland School of Art, Portland, ME (1971-1973), and studied textile design at the Memphis College of Art, Memphis TN (B.F.A., 1975) and Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI (graduate studies 1975-1976). She has been an instructor in the Art Department at USM since 1981.

She was a resident fellow at the Island Institute in Sitka, AK (1995), and an artist in residence for Artists Invite Artists at the Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Newcastle, ME(1995); and received a New Forms Regional Initiative Grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts in 1990.
