Mature Dimensions: 40-50' tall, 20-30' wide

Habit: Pyramidal in youth, becoming rounded in maturity

Bark: Gray and slightly furrowed

Buds: Oblong, solitary, sessile, scaly

Leaves: Simple, alternate, 2-4" long, ¾ to 11/2" wide, elliptic-ovate, variably serrate margins, ½-3/4" petiole. Lustrous dark green color turning to yellow- orange in the fall

Flowers: Perfect, white, 6-10 flowers borne in 2-3 inch corymbs, ½" diameter

Fruit: Round pinkish-red to orange berry, ½ to ¾ inch long, persistent

Pests/Diseases: Virtually pest-free; occasional borer problems
