Golden Raindrops Japanese Malus

Hardiness: Hardy in the Gorham, ME area; Zone 4-7

Mature Dimensions: 15-20' tall by 15 feet wide

Habit: Small, rounded, with horizontally spreading branches

Bark: Shiny copper-brown, scaly in maturity

Buds: Ovoid, with several overlapping scales; reddish brown

Leaves: 2-3" long, deeply cut, sharply serrated. Dark green color ages to yellow-orange in fall

Flowers: Pink buds opening to white; 5-petaled

Fruit: Golden-yellow, ¼" diameter, persistent

Pests/Diseases: Good resistance to scab and Japanese beetle; virtually problem-free
