   AMS 578 – Epidemiology of Infectious Disease

This course will provide an introduction to the epidemiologic basis for the prevention and control of communicable diseases through the study of specific infections including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis, rabies, influenza, and Lyme disease. The course will also include exercises on the investigation of acute disease outbreaks and discussions of immunization, institutional infection control, foodborne illnesses, and emerging infectious diseases. .
