The Action Learning Center is an Experiential Education center specializing in team-building programs.   Experiential education is learning by doing.  Instead of learning by listening to a lecture or reading, participants have the opportunity to learn by participating in a variety of team-building challenges.  Experiential education can happen in a classroom, boardroom, ropes course, or just about anywhere!

Most of our programs happen at our ropes course in Freeport, Maine; although we can travel anywhere in the state of Maine to a location of your choice.  Our ropes course has three main components that make up our programs:

Field Activities: We have an expansive grassy field where we usually start off our programs with icebreakers, games, and complex problem solving initiatives.

Low Ropes: We have numerous cable and wood elements throughout the woods that participants utilize to accomplish team-building tasks and challenges.

High Ropes: We have a network of high elements where participants wear a harness and helmet and climb into the trees and onto cables; all of these elements require participants to be safely attached to a rope at all times.
