How do I know that the ALC ropes course is safe?
Our ropes course is inspected annually by Project Adventure; quarterly by the ALC Director; and daily by our staff. The ALC is a member of the Association for Challenge Course Technology and follows all of the up to date industry standards. The ALC has an impeccable safety record.
What if I am not comfortable participating in the high ropes because I am scared of heights?
Everything at the ALC is “challenge by choice.” Each participant decides how he/she will participate in the activities. Even if a participant is not comfortable climbing, there are numerous important jobs that the group needs to attend to on the ground.
Who are the ALC staff members?
ALC staff members are highly trained ropes course facilitators. Staff members attend an annual training and go through a structured check off process in order to run our ropes course elements. ALC staff members are also trained in group dynamics processes and facilitation techniques.
What if it rains on the day of my program?
We run programs in the rain. If the forecast is for lightening or high winds, the director will touch base with the organization contact person the day before your program to assess if the program should be re-scheduled or canceled.
