Transfer Scholarship (PDF)
This two-year award was established by the Gormans to assist transfer students in making the transition to the University of Southern Maine. Transfer students applying to USM for fall admission with a minimum of 24 credit hours earned and a minimum transfer grade point average of 3.0 are encouraged to apply.
- Osher Reentry Scholarship Fund (PDF)
The Osher Reentry Scholars Fund was established at the University of Southern
Maine by the Bernard Osher Foundation. Applicants for this award must be
matriculated in their first USM baccalaureate degree, must be registered for
at least six (6) credits for the semester of receipt, and must be an
undergraduate reentry student who has experienced a gap of five or more years
in pursuit of his or her education and who can look forward to a significant
number of years of workforce participation after completion of the
baccalaureate degree. Applications due Monday, June 2, 2008.

Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram Scholarship
(for Students of Color)
These scholarships seeks to attract students of color enrolled as full-time students as an undergraduate at the University of Southern Maine to careers in media, especially print journalism. Other possible areas include writing, editing, reporting, marketing, finance and public relations. Applications, in particular, are welcome from students majoring in Business administration, communication, english, history, media studies and political science at USM. - Praxis Awards (PDF) (for USM Honors Program Students)
Students admitted into the USM Honors Program have the opportunity to be considered for the Praxis Award. This renewable scholarship provides continuing support for USM students who supplement their major course of study with this academically rigorous and tight-knit learning community.
