Costs & Financial Aid

You and your family may be surprised to learn that you can afford an excellent college education.  A USM education is one of the best bargains available.  Our tuition rates provide you and your family with real value: a high quality education at an affordable cost.

Your college education is one of the most important investments you will make.  Our Student Financial Aid Office offers a variety of programs to make a USM education within reach of every eligible student.  Grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and educational loans totaling more than $35 million are available each year to assist eligible students.  More than 75 percent of our students receive financial assistance through these programs, with each receiving an average financial aid package of close to $7,300.  In addition, USM offers several different payment plan options, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) may also be used.
