Risk Management

Risk Management works in close collaboration with all University departments, the UMS Office of Risk Management and our various insurance providers. Services available through U.S.M. Risk Management include; program risk evaluation, general liability coverage, University and rental vehicle physical damage coverage, international travel insurance, special contents insurance, as well as, building and contents fire and loss insurance.

Traveling outside the United States:
A new insurance program will be in affect for those who travel outside the United States. The effective date is April 21, 2004 or immediately for those whose travel will extend beyond April 20, 2004 and for future travel. The new program is written by Ace American Insurance Company, and administered by CMI Insurance Specialists (www.studyabroadinsurance.com ) Please contact Bob Smith if you need this type of insurance as coverage is not automatic.
