GO TO THE SKY CALENDAR FOR HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MONTH!

Greetings, stargazers!

Welcome to "Skywatch," the telephone service provided to you by the Southworth Planetarium for free.

The Skywatch Hotline endeavors to cover the entire night sky, which can be quite a task.

The Skywatch Hotline (1-207-780-4719) will tell you the locations of all the visible planets in the night sky. The hotline examines at least one constellation per week, as well as providing rising times for the Sun and Moon.

Other Notable Skywatch Features:
  -meteor shower watches
  -aurora borealis "warnings"
  -a weekly astronomy definition
  -locations of comets, and asteroids(when applicable)
  -star stories (information about the brightest stars)
  -and the weekly astronomy topic which can range from "Martian Moons" to the "Perseus supercluster"to "Black Holes"
