Feminist Majority Foundation: The Feminist Majority Foundation, one of the nation's leading research and advocacy organizations for women's rights, develops creative long-term strategies and permanent solutions for the pervasive social, political, and economic obstacles facing women. Provides internship opportunities in feminism and public policy.  

Black Career Women Online: Networking and support organization addressing the contemporary issues and concerns of career-oriented black women.  

National Partnership for Women & Families: The National Partnership for Women & Families is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that uses public education and advocacy to promote fairness in the workplace, quality health care, and policies that help women and men meet the dual demands of work and family.

Feminist.Com: An interactive community by, for and about women. Native Americans

Native American Resouces: This website offers a wealth of information for native Americans. Some of these offerings include a calendar of events (yes Maine is included), job listings, news, message boards, organizations, relief options. 

American Indian Scholarship Fund: Provides financial assistance to students who are in need of help.

Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science: The mission of SACNAS is to encourage Chicano/Latino and Native American students to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for research careers and science teaching professions at all levels.

Black Excel: Helps young people and their parents all across the country to navigate the difficult college admission process. We have tried to make the way easy and accessible. Resources for the Disabled

 

U.S. Dept of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy, Job Links -Employers listed on Job Links have indicated interest in recruiting and hiring qualified individuals with disabilities for open positions within their company or organization.

Disabled American Veterans: The Disabled Businesspersons Association (DBA) is a national 501(C)(3) nonprofit, public charity and educational organization founded in 1991 to help disabled entrepreneurs and professionals maximize their potential in the business world, and to encourage the participation and enhance the performance of the disabled in the workforce.

Esmerel's Collection of Disability Resources: On these pages, you will find lists of many disability related resources. There are literally hundreds of well-organized links. These lists will continue to grow. Individual pages are updated on a weekly basis.

National Organization on Disability:  The National Organization on Disability promotes full and equal participation of America's 54 million men, women and children with disabilities in all aspects of life.

 

Resources for International Students

International Students and US Employment Resource Page: Provides a variety of tips and resources for international students seeking US employment.

Country Studies:  Presents a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of countries throughout the world and examines the interrelationships of those systems and the ways they are shaped by cultural factors.

USM's  International Student Services: The office is  located on the first floor of Payson Smith on the Portland campus.
