Request A Presentation:
If you are interested in having Career Services present to your class, please fill out the form below and click the submit button. If possible, please give us notice at least 1 full week in advance. We will respond to you within two business days of your request to make arrangements.

Possible topics include:

o General Overview of Our Services o Career Development for Specific Majors
o Résumé  & Cover Letter Writing o Career Assessments: Myers-Briggs and/or Strong
o Effective Interviewing Skills o Graduate School Process
o Job Searching Strategies/Networking o Co-ops and Internships

Other topics may be possible depending upon preferences of the group and time to develop the presentation. The General Overview takes about 15-20 minutes. Other presentations each take approximately 45 minutes-1 hour.

Career Panels/Informal Career Sessions
We're interested in helping academic departments and individual faculty members connect their students with career development opportunities. We invite you to participate with us in offering an event such as a career panel or informational session. For these events we would bring professionals from the community to campus. The career panel would speak to and interact with students to expose them to career areas related to your department's academic studies.

Classroom Assignments:
If you would like to refer students to our office as part of an assignment, please call Mary Ann Benson (Portland) at 780-4695 (or send email to mbenson@usm.maine.edu) or Mariah E. Gaughan (Gorham) at 780-5330 (or send email to mariahg@usm.maine.edu) to let us know the details of the assignment or fill out the form below. We want to ensure a positive experience for your students.

When and Where?
Career Services staff will work with your group to meet at a time and location that is convenient. We invite your class to come to Career Services for presentations in order to have the opportunity to show students our resources; however, we are happy to conduct our presentations in your classroom or at other locations on campus.
