Center for Teaching

The Center for Teaching seeks to foster, encourage, and support dedicated instructors, innovative teaching, and the advancement of communities of learning between USM faculty and students.

Based on recommendations proceeding from the Self-Study completed in May 2008 and incorporated into our 2007-2008 Annual Report, the Center for Teaching will focus its efforts during 2008-2009 on providing small grants to foster curricular and pedagogical innovations in the academic majors. In adopting this approach, we hope to conserve limited resources while complementing the efforts of other USM offices and programs, including the New Core Curriculum, the Center for Technology-Enhanced Learning, the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement, and the Writing Collaborative.
